About
Most of my work sits somewhere between building software and explaining how it works.
I started out building frontend projects and began writing about what I was learning along the way. The writing grew much further than I expected, but I never stopped building. Today I work across software engineering, technical writing and editing, developer education, research, and product work.
At Kinsta, I'm a Technical Editor. I write and edit technical content, work with international writers, and help plan what we publish each quarter around company and product priorities. I also run technical research and performance benchmarks, build developer tutorials and API projects, and create internal tools when there is a process worth improving.
That work has taken me into places I didn't initially associate with an editorial role. I've worked with infrastructure data in Kibana, led Kinsta's first AI and bot traffic report using data from more than 10 billion requests, built an internal content search and AI system for teams across the company, created our internal style-guide site with Astro, and worked extensively on the developer-facing side of Sevalla.
Outside Kinsta, I'm a co-founder of Spidra and NGN Market. These aren't projects where I only handle the writing or marketing. I write product code with my co-founders and also work on documentation, customer support, sales, marketing, and whatever else needs to happen to make the products better.
Spidra has made me think a lot about APIs, web scraping, automation, AI agents, and developer experience, because I get to see how developers and their tools actually use the software we build. NGN Market has taken me into financial data, subscriptions, APIs, AI-powered analysis, publishing systems, and the less glamorous problems that show up once real users depend on a product.
Writing is still a huge part of what I do. I've published more than 400 technical articles across Kinsta, freeCodeCamp, Hygraph, Smashing Magazine, CSS-Tricks, LogRocket, and other developer platforms. In 2023, I became the 2nd most-read author on freeCodeCamp, reaching more than 700,000 monthly readers at peak. I've also written a 15-hour interactive course for Educative and built Hygraph's GraphQL learning hub.
What I enjoy most is being close enough to the technical work to have something real to explain. Sometimes that means building an integration before writing the tutorial. Sometimes it means running a benchmark, inspecting logs, or questioning an average that doesn't look right. Other times it means editing another writer's work until the useful part becomes clearer.
Outside work, I've led two Open Source Community Africa chapters, helped grow them to more than 100 active members across 11+ workshops, spoken at events including OSCAFest and Google DevFest, and created technical tutorials on YouTube. I'm still building, writing, learning, and figuring out where those things lead next.
